The mission of Leadership Mobile is to seek, train and empower leaders who are committed to supporting and leading community growth and progress through networking and collaborative problem solving.
Purpose and Objectives
Leadership Mobile is a community based organization established to bring together leaders who represent the diversity of the population of Mobile, who share concerns for improving the quality of life and have manifested a willingness and ability to assume leadership responsibilities in addressing these concerns, for the following purposes:
To inform and educate members and, where appropriate, the community at large on current leadership trends, issues and challenges facing our community;
- To continue the networking begun as development class participants, with emphasis on the interrelatedness of diverse constituent groups;
- To encourage members to get involved in the implementation of leadership development class projects and the activities of Mobile United;
- To identify organizational and individual opportunities for community involvement and assist in the placement of participants in these positions;
- To provide opportunities for continuing leadership skill development and personal growth for the membership;
- To conduct an annual Leadership Mobile Development Program for the following purposes:
- To identify new and emerging leaders;
- To provide through an innovative program of training, the opportunity to acquire knowledge of (a) challenging community issues in an environment that dignifies the espousal of differing viewpoints, (b) theories of relationship, feedback and follow-through, (c) decision making processes and (d) other skills required for leadership effectiveness.
- To provide opportunities for communication among emerging and established leadership; and
- To serve as a vehicle which helps potential leaders shape their own attitudes and outlooks for assuming positions of increasing responsibility in community decision-making.
